What Customers Say About Motorola Surfboard SB5101 Cable Modem:

With high-speed cable I am getting consistent download speeds greater than 15 Mb/s and upload speeds around 2.5 Mb/s. It set up quickly and the cable tech said Comcast used and seen many of these. I've had this modem for a few months and I highly recommend it. I have not experienced any down time with this unit. He said it was very dependable.
I placed the order that morning and it shipped that afternoon. I was so excited to find this modem - it saved me so much money from buying it locally. Arrived in perfect condition in it's same packaging and box.
I had the exact surfboard unit as a rental but wanted to purchase a unit because in the long run it would have been cheaper. It never worked. I kept the rental unit and returned unit. Ordered product. Received product. It did not work and was a waste of my time.
It would have been nice to have a product manual with it, but I downloaded one off the Motorola web site. No issues with the modem, and once I contacted the cable provider with the product information, the signal came through without any problem. I really like the sleep button so I cna shut down the signal when I'm not using it.
It's easy to use because it's always on. It doesn't happen often, but when it does, it's noticable. I can't rate ease of installation because the cable installer did it. Reliability get 4 instead of 5 stars because every once in a while it lags.
